Truck Driver Burnt Alive After Head-On Collision With Another Truck At Gwalior-Morena Border

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A truck driver was burnt alive after the vehicle collided with another truck and caught fire at the Gwalior-Morena border on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the Laxmangarh bridge, under the jurisdiction of Rithora police station in Morena district, around 4 am.

The deceased, identified as Raghavendra Sharma, a resident of Saifau in Dholpur district of Rajasthan, was carrying ballast from Billua in Gwalior to Agra in truck number RJ11 GB-5263. As per police reports, the truck collided with another truck (RJ11 GB-4908) coming from the front direction.

The impact was so heavy that the vehicle immediately caught fire. Despite consistent efforts from commuters and other truck driver to douse the vehicle the rapid fire engulfed and scorched the vehicle entirely. Sharma did not even get a chance to move from the seat and was burnt alive inside the truck.

Maharajpura police station in-charge Dharmendra Singh Yadav of Gwalior and Rithora police station of Morena rushed to the spot and and initiated a rescue operation. The remains of the deceased were later sent to the Morena District Hospital mortuary.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of truck coming from the front hit the truck directly while driving at high speed and carelessly, which caused the accident.

The accused truck driver flees the site after the incident. Morena police has seized the truck and has started searching for the accused. Since the accident site falls under Rithora police station area of ​​Morena district, further action is being taken by Rithora police.
