From India’s ‘Laxman Rekha’ To Invoking Guru Gobind Singh: PM Modi’s Top Quotes At Adampur Air Base

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on Tuesday, asserted that India’s stance against terrorism has become “crystal clear” and warned that any future terror attacks would be met with a “solid reply”.

From India’s ‘Laxman Rekha’ Against Terrorism To Quoting Guru Gobind Singh — PM Modi's Top Quotes

  • Addressing air warriors and soldiers, PM Modi said, “India’s ‘Laxman Rekha’ against terrorism is crystal clear now. If another terror attack occurs now, India will give a reply – a solid reply. We saw this during surgical strike, during air strike. Now, Operation Sindoor is India’s new normal.”

  • Calling Operation Sindoor a symbol of India’s intent, PM Modi stated, “Operation Sindoor is not a normal military operation. It is the confluence of India’s policy, intention and decisiveness. India is the land of Buddha as well as Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Gobind Singh Ji said that ‘Sava lakh se ek lada hu, Chidian te mai baaj tudau, Tabhi Guru Gobind Singh naam kahau (When I fight one against 1.25 lakh, when I make sparrows fight hawks, then I am worthy of being called Gobind Singh)’. It is our tradition to take up arms for the protection of our Dharma. So, when the sindoor of our sisters and daughters was snatched away, we crushed the terrorists by entering their own homes.”

  • Talking about Pakistan's nefarious design to use civilian aircraft as a shield, PM Modi said, "Our objective was to strike the terror headquarters and terrorists inside Pakistan. But the conspiracy Pakistan hatched by placing civilian passenger planes in the line of fire – I can only imagine how difficult that must have been. I am proud that you achieved your objective without harming the civilian aircraft."

He further remarked, “The handlers of terrorism have now understood that any attempt to look towards India will lead to only one consequence – destruction and complete annihilation.”

  • Acknowledging the efforts of the armed forces in tackling Pakistan's nuclear blackmail, Modi said, “When our forces defused the threat of nuclear blackmail, one chant echoed from the skies to the earth — Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” He praised the military action, noting, “You attacked them from the front and killed them. You destroyed all the big bases of terrorism. Nine terrorist hideouts were destroyed. More than 100 terrorists died.”

  • Highlighting the failures of Pakistan’s attempts to retaliate, he stated, “Enemies were alarmed by Operation Sindoor and attempted to target our air bases, but Pakistan’s nefarious intentions failed every time. Their drones, aircraft and missiles were no match for our strong air defence.” He also lauded the leadership at the air base, saying, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the airbase and to every air warrior. You all did an excellent job. If any terrorist attack occurs in the future, India will definitely give a befitting reply.”

  • The Prime Minister re-iterated what he termed as India’s three-point doctrine on terrorism: “First, if there is a terrorist attack on India, we will give a reply in our way, on our condition, on our time. Second, India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. Third, we will not see terror-supporting government and terror masterminds as separate entities.” He added that the global community now recognises India’s “new form” and “new system”.

  • PM Modi also commented on technological superiority, stating, “Pakistan cannot compete with our new and cutting-edge technology. All our armies have the world’s best technology, which also increases the challenges. You all operated complicated systems very efficiently. It is a skill. You all have proved that you are the best at this game in the world.”

  • On the broader message to Pakistan, he asserted, “We have dusted them off. The Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy have defeated the Pakistani army. We gave them a message that there is no place in Pakistan where the terrorists could live peacefully. ‘We will enter your home and eliminate you’.”

PM Modi concluded with a stern warning: “After Pakistan's appeal, India has only paused its military action. If Pakistan shows terrorist activities or military audacity again, we will give a befitting reply. This reply will be on our conditions, in our style. The base of this decision, the belief behind this, is your patience, valour, bravery and alertness. You have to maintain this zeal. We have to be alert and prepared. We have to keep reminding the enemy that this is new India. This India wants peace but if there is an attack on humanity, this India very well knows to raze the enemy to ground at the war front.”

Earlier in the day, PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”
