Navi Mumbai Police Launches 24/7 Chatbot For Seamless Public Engagement And Services
Navi Mumbai: Taking a progressive step in digital citizen engagement, the Navi Mumbai Police have launched an innovative chatbot service aimed at providing quick and convenient access to police-related information. This new feature enables citizens to receive answers to their most common queries with just a click, making the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate the first in the state to implement such a service.
The chatbot, available 24/7, allows residents to access information about police services, procedures, and contact details from their smartphones, computers, or tablets—eliminating the need to physically visit a police station. The service is available in both English and Marathi, making it accessible to a wider audience.
Navi Mumbai Police Launch AI-Powered Chatbot for 24/7 Citizen Engagement and SupportThis AI-powered chatbot initiative was developed under the guidance of Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe and was recently inaugurated by Minister of State for Home (Urban) Yogesh Kadam. It reflects the department’s commitment to increasing transparency and efficiency in public service through the use of modern technology.
Citizens can access the chatbot through the official Navi Mumbai Police website (navimumbaipolice.gov.in) by clicking on the “Navi Mumbai Police Help” icon at the bottom right corner. From there, they can navigate to the chatbot page and interact in real-time by clicking “Chat Now.”
The chatbot offers several citizen-centric services. It provides crime prevention tips, including advice on cyber safety, phishing, online fraud, and theft, along with practical steps to avoid becoming victims of such crimes. The platform also updates users about emerging criminal methods, helping them stay vigilant and informed.
Additionally, the chatbot grants easy access to essential information such as police station contacts, the current status of cases, and required documents for various procedures. It offers step-by-step guidance on filing online FIRs, completing passport verifications, and availing other police services. Moreover, the chatbot connects users directly to the appropriate police departments or officers, ensuring their concerns are efficiently addressed.
"The system is designed to promote transparent communication between citizens and the police force. People can share their suggestions, lodge complaints, or raise inquiries directly through the chatbot, fostering a more responsive and citizen-friendly policing environment," Deputy commissioner of police (Head Quarters) Sanjay Patil, said.
He further emphasized that the chatbot has been launched to offer fast, transparent, and user-friendly services. “In this digital age, the police department is embracing technology to strengthen communication with the public.
