Jainika excels in Class X with 99.8%
Jainika Jain topped the Class X exams in the city, the results of which were declared by the CBSE on Tuesday.
She is a student of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar. She scored 99.8 per cent marks in the exams.
Her father Rajan Jain works in the hosiery sector here while mother Rajni Jain is a housewife. Her two siblings, a sister and a brother, also study at the same school.
Talking to The Tribune, an elated Jainika said she gave credit of her results to her school teachers as well as parents. Her hard work and months’ long efforts yielded results as expected by her. When asked about the mantra behind her success, Jainika summed it in two words ‘self-study’.
“I never took tuition in my studies till date. I believe in self-study. There is a misconception that without taking tuition a student cannot become a topper, here is a live example. One just needs to be consistent and devoted to his/her studies and try to learn everything at the school level,” she said.
Jainika asserted that since she was not taking tuition, she used to clear most of her doubts when teachers teach in classrooms. About her goals, Jainika said she would further pursue commerce stream in the same school.
“My daughter has sacrificed her social life to achieve the success. She would never attend marriage functions or any social gathering. Many a times, when we used to force her to accompany us to a wedding, she used to say no for studying,” Jainika’s father Rajat Jain said.
