Deepika Padukone To Receive Career's Highest Paycheck For Prabhas Starrer 'Spirit?' Know Details
Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is reportedly set to command the highest paycheck of her career for her next big-screen outing. Buzz suggests the actress is charging a staggering ₹20 crore for her upcoming project—an amount that allegedly surpasses the fees currently charged by her husband, Ranveer Singh.
Deepika Padukone to charge this amount for Spirit?
While Deepika has not officially announced any new film post the birth of her daughter Dua, strong speculation points toward her reuniting with Prabhas for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated film Spirit.
Although the makers are yet to confirm the news, India Today Digital reports that Deepika is on board and will receive ₹20 crore for the film. If true, this would mark her most lucrative deal yet.
Earlier, Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “Initially, Spirit was to begin by the end of 2024 and hence, Deepika had turned down the offer, as the timelines were not matching due to her pregnancy. However, with a delay in schedule, Vanga went back to Deepika with a revised shooting timeline, and the actress has now agreed to come on board Spirit."
“It’s the most well-written female part in the world of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Deepika was surprised with the nuances in not just the script, but also her character. She has loved the part, and is excited to team up with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the first time," the source added.
About Spirit
According to the report, Spirit is in its final scripting stage, with filming scheduled to begin in October this year. The original plan was to start shooting in January, but production was delayed after lead actor Prabhas sustained an injury during the filming of Fauji. Jointly backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is slated for a 2027 release.
Meanwhile, Deepika also has the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD in the pipeline, continuing her on-screen collaboration with Prabhas.
