Justice BR Gavai takes oath as 52nd Chief Justice of India

Justice BR Gavai was sworn in as the 52nd Chief Justice of India, making history as the first Buddhist to hold the position. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office. Justice Gavai succeeds CJI Sanjiv Khanna, who retired on Tuesday after serving since November 11, 2024.
