Microsoft to lay off 3% of its workforce in latest round of job cuts

US tech giant Microsoft is gearing up to lay off thousands of employees as part of a plan to streamline its operations. However, according to a report by CNBC, the upcoming layoffs will not be performance-based. A spokesperson for the company confirmed that approximately 3 percent of the workforce would be impacted in this round of layoffs, which aims to reduce management layers.
