Horrific! 6-Year-Old Girl Dies After Injection By Quack Doctor In MP’s Ratlam; Clinic Sealed, Accused Arrested

Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): A case of medical negligence was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam, where a six-year-old girl died two hours after she was given an injection by a quack.

The doctor has been identified as Ajay Singh Chauhan. According to police reports, Chauhan is not certified to conduct allopathic treatments. He holds a homeopathy degree but had been conducting allopathic treatments illegally over a decade.

On Tuesday, the 6-year-old victim , Aruna, daughter of Nathulal Bhabhar developed fever and was rushed to the clinic. Without any prior examination or running test Chauhan gave an injection to the 6-year-old. The family left the clinic, but Aruna's situation just worsened and she started puking. Family rushed her back to the clinic, where she died around 1 pm

Police along with health officials rushed to the site after receiving the information. The police sent the girl's body to Ratlam Medical College for post-mortem. After this, she was cremated in the evening.

Clinic sealed, quack doctor in police custody

After the incident, the doctor fled from the clinic. Based on preliminary investigation, the clinic has been sealed immediately.

The absconding quack doctor was taken into custody by Raoti police station later on Tuesday night. Police said that the accused is being questioned.

Six years ago, a patient died in the same clinic

In a disturbing revelation, it has come to light six years ago a patient died during treatment in the same clinic. Ramesh Charel (30), a resident of village Gangayata Pada, was brought to the same clinic on 26 January 2019 complaining of pain in his hands and legs and died on the spot near a hotel.

Preliminary investigation revealed by the health department has confirmed that the accused has a homeopathy degree, but he was treating patients with allopathic method. Chauhan used to administer IV drips and injections in his clinic illegally.

According to the information, Chauhan was running this clinic in a rented room in Ratlam for the last 10 to 12 years. Professionally he was a homeopathy teacher in a private university in Ratlam.

Health Department issued 50 illegal clinics

This case is a broader issue in the region. Over 50 illegal clinics were issued by the Health Department last month. Many are suspected to be operating without valid licenses or qualified staff, posing severe risks to public health.
