From screens to the global stage: Nitanshi Goel, the youngest debutante at Cannes 2025

Actress Nitanshi Goel, who catapulted to fame with her debut film Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, is poised to make her debut at Cannes. At just 17 years of age, she became the youngest Indian actress to grace the red carpet as the new face of L'Oréal Paris.

 

From winning the IIFA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance as Phool Kumari at such a young age, Goel is enthralled to bag another milestone of her career. Sharing her excitement, she posted a video on her Instagram captioned: “From watching Cannes Film festival moments on screens to living one, I will be walking my very first red carpet. It's more than a debut, it's a piece of my heart, a lot of dreams, and a little bit of India with me. Feeling all the emotions. Holding on to all the gratitude honored to be here as a L'Oréal Paris partner.”

 

From being a child artiste on television to debuting with a critically acclaimed film, Nitanshi Goel has made into the list of promising young talents in Indian cinema. Her depiction of a young village bride in Laapataa Ladies not only fetched her accolades but also helped established a huge fanbase. Laapataa Ladies was India's Oscar entry for Best International Feature Film.
