Navi Mumbai Crime: Unidentified Masked Man Attempts To Set Fire To Nerul Wine Shop Using Flammable Liquid; Police Launch Manhunt
Navi Mumbai: An unidentified individual attempted to set fire to a wine shop in Nerul Sector-10 by throwing a flammable substance at it during the early hours of Sunday. Fortunately, the fire was quickly brought under control by the fire brigade, preventing major damage to the shop. Nerul Police have begun a search for the suspect.
The incident occurred around 1:30 AM at Yogesh Wine Shop, located in the Dattakrupa building in Nerul Sector-10. Neighbors noticed the fire and promptly informed the fire department. Firefighters arrived quickly at the scene and managed to contain the flames, resulting in only minor damage to the shop.
"Following the incident, the shop owner reviewed CCTV footage to determine the cause of the fire. The footage revealed that at approximately 1:30 AM, a masked individual wearing a black jacket, cap, and face covering threw a flammable liquid—carried in a plastic bottle—onto the shop's shutter and set it ablaze using a matchstick. The person fled the scene immediately after the fire started," a police officer said.
The official further added, "Based on the CCTV evidence, the shop owner filed a complaint and we registered a case. We have initiated a manhunt to identify and apprehend the accused."
