'Mawra Hocane Definitely Nahi Hai': Sanam Teri Kasam Directors Reveal Who Will Be Cast In The Sequel

Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited romantic films. The movie was announced in 2024 with Harshvardhan Rane, and earlier this year, Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane had confirmed that she has been approached for the movie. However, after the Pahalgam attack last month, things have not been good between India and Pakistan, and the aritsts from the neighbouring country are banned from working here.

Recently, during an interview with Hindi Rush, Sanam Teri Kasam directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru opened up about the casting of the sequel. While they didn't reveal much about it, Vinay just said, "Mawra definitely nahi hai (laughs)."

Sanam Teri Kasam 2 Release Date

While the sequel has been officially confirmed, the makers have not yet announced the release date of the film. When the director-duo was asked about the release date, Vinay said, "When we were writing Sanam Teri Kasam, it was always written with a sequel. But, then no one asked for that story, so we kept it aside. Now, the demand for that story is there, so we have taken it out and are working on it."

When probed whether it will release in 2026, Radhika stated, "We will try."

Harshvardhan Rane's Exit From Sanam Teri Kasam 2

A few days ago, Harshvardhan on his Instagram story had posted that if someone from the previous cast is roped in for the sequel, he won't star in it. He shared, “While I am grateful for the experience, however as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have decided to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam Part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated."

Harshvardhan didn't write anyone's name, but this post was hinting at the casting of Mawra. However, now, the directors have confirmed that Mawra won't be there in the movie, so let's hope that we get to watch Rane as Inder again on the big screens.
