RBI Bank Shield Cricket: Arsh Dhondy Hat-trick Gets RBI Sports Club An Easy Win

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Sports Club's right hand medium-pacer Arsh Dhondy wrecked New India Assurance with a hat-trick powered four for 27 and won the match for his side in an Elite Group RBI Bank Shield competition at the Police Gymkhana on Tuesday evening.

Dhondy dismantled the New India Assurance middle order batting line-up. He struck his first blow in the 18th when he dismissed NIA's number four batter Shaurya Nagar for 16. He returned in the 20th over and claimed three wickets in succession to complete his hat-trick. He got rid of Rohit Shukla (2), Prashant Chavan and Ayush Sawant both for ducks.

Chasing 155, RBI got to the finishing line with Sumit Ghadigaonkar (37) and Sidith Tiwari (48 not out) doing their job with considerable ease for their side to win by seven wickets and 34 balls to spare.

Earlier, Chief Guest T. Rabi Shankar, Deputy Governor, RBI; Guest of Honour Charulata S. Kar, Executive Director, RBI, and Suman Ray, Regional Director, RBI inaugurated the Elite Group RBI Bank Shield cricket tournament at the at Police Gymkhana ground on Tuesday evening.

Brief scores: New India Assurance 154 for 7 in 20 overs (Harsh Ubale 50, Anish Shetty 37, Sanskar Dahelkar 28 not out, Arsh Dhondy 4 for 27) lost to RBI Sports Club 155 for 3 in 14.2 overs (Sumit Ghadigaonkar 37, Sidith Tiwari 48 not out, Rohit Shukla 2 for 44) by 7 wkts.
