In a recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly considering relocating the IPL 2025 final from Kolkata’s Eden Gardens to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. As per a Cricbuzz report, the primary reason behind this possible shift is the inconsistent weather pattern currently affecting Kolkata.

The Narendra Modi Stadium, which holds the distinction of being the largest cricket ground globally with a seating capacity of over 132,000, has previously hosted major fixtures, including the IPL finals in 2022 and 2023, as well as the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Its cutting-edge amenities and strong reputation for organizing marquee matches make it a strong option for future showpiece games.

Although no official confirmation has come from the BCCI yet, Ahmedabad’s modern infrastructure, vast experience in handling grand-scale tournaments, and stable weather give it a clear edge as a likely venue for this year’s final.
