Govt to provide relief, support to needy: CM

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said that the state government was committed to the welfare of the underprivileged and marginalised sections of society and would ensure their well-being.

The Chief Minister met a delegation of the Street Vendors Union from Hamirpur, which called on him to express their gratitude for his support and intervention in addressing their long-standing issues. He said that no one should lose his livelihood unjustly and the state government would continue to work to provide relief, support and opportunities to those in need.

The delegation told the Chief Minister that their ‘khokhas’ were earlier demolished arbitrarily, leaving them without a source of livelihood and shelter. Despite their repeated appeals, no action had been taken in their favour. However, the Chief Minister extended all-out support to their families to ensure justice and livelihood security. They thanked the Chief Minister for his compassionate stance on their rehabilitation, providing them with much-needed relief.

Sunil Sharma, Political Adviser to Chief Minister, said that the government would ensure that the benefits of various welfare schemes reach the downtrodden and needy persons of society. He added that the Chief Minister had always adopted a humanitarian approach to address the problems of common people.

Hamirpur APMC Chairman Ajay Sharma, senior Congress leaders Rajesh Anand, Manoj Sharma, Rakesh Verma, Sunil Kumar, Harsh Kalia, Neelam Sharma and representatives of the Street Vendors Union were present on the occasion.
