Is Windsor Pro Worth The Extra Money Over Standard MG Windsor?

The Windsor Pro basically addresses what we all wanted more from the standard Windsor and that's more range. While the real world range of the standard Windsor is close to the official range, the extra range that the Windsor Pro offers is a crucial change which basically is for those who undertake slightly longer journeys without the need to charge.

That essentially stands as the biggest reason to upgrade if you are eyeing Windsor. The Pro gets a larger 52.9 kwh battery pack which has a claimed range of 449km and that's a sizable bump from the 332km in the standard model. While we are yet to conduct a real-world road test the range should be comfortably near 400km which for an EV is important.

There is no change in power while that would have been nice, the Pro version does get some visual tweaks which adds to the design notably 18-inch wheels which further adds an SUV touch to the crossover shape. Importantly, the floor height remains unchanged despite the larger battery pack and that means space remains huge compared to other SUVs while chauffeur driven owners will like the airier cabin thanks to the light upholstery too.

Elsewhere, things stay the same which means a massive screen holds nearly a lot of functions- some which should have added physical controls too as our previous Windsor reviews have also reported. That aside, MG has added ADAS Level 2 features and a powered tailgate which round up the features list and it is one of the rather well equipped cars at this price aside from missing a rear wiper. While being more than Rs 2 lakh expensive over the standard version, the Pro is still well priced in comparison with rivals and the extra range plus the features do make it seem worth it. The highlights remain being the cabin, space and the features which now are better.
