Bad news for Indians as UK changes rules for jobs and studies… Britain’s new immigration policy states…

Jobs in UK: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced major changes in the immigration rules. Due to this, studying and working in Britain has now become more difficult than before. Things have become difficult for Indians thinking of getting a UK student visa or work visa. The main objective of the government is to reduce the number of foreigners in the country, due to which new immigration rules have been introduced.

Let us know in detail about the 5 major changes in Britain:

There has been a major change in the conditions for obtaining a UK skilled work visa. Now only those foreign workers will get a skilled work visa who have a degree-level qualification. However, there are some sectors where there are always challenges regarding appointments. In such sectors, visa will be given even if the educational qualification is low. The government is also considering announcing new conditions for granting work visa to students studying from top universities outside the UK.

Earlier in Britain, one had to live in the country for five years to get ‘Indefinite Leave to Remain’ (ILR). The government has now increased this period to 10 years. In simple words, to get Permanent Residency (PR) in Britain, one has to live in the country for 10 years. However, the government is planning to introduce the ‘Earned Settlement’ system, under which people who contribute to the British economy and society will get points, which can also get them PR quickly.

Students studying in Britain get a graduate visa, which is also called a post-study work visa. Through this, foreign students could work in the country for two years after graduation, which has now been reduced to 18 months. The government is also planning to impose a 6 percent tax on the income earned by universities in England from the tuition fees of foreign students. This money will be used for higher education and skill system.

The official language of Britain is English. Under the new rules, the English language requirement has been increased for all types of work visas. Adult dependents of visa holders must know basic level English. English under the spousal and partner route will also be considered qualified. People thinking of settling in Britain or considering extending the visa period will have to show that their command of the English language has improved.
