New Delhi: The Indian Cricket Team’s Test squad is yet to be confirmed for the upcoming tour of England, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is already making decisions over the departure schedule of the cricketers and other staff members.
Currently, we know that Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir will leave on 6th June with the first batch of Test players. The other batches’ schedule is totally dependent on their IPL 2025 commitment who are picked in the squad.
“The players who get free from the IPL during the league stage are likely to leave with coach Gambhir on June 6. The rest will leave after a short break post the IPL 2025 commitments,” said a senior BCCI official.
On the other hand, we also know that Gautam Gambhir will eye on the preparations of the Test squad. If we talk about the support staff, most of them are not in the country at the moment and they might meet up the squad directly in England.
According to a report by Times of India on May 5th, the travel schedule of the India A squad for England is starting on May 25th. If we talk about the players who are not in the IPL or participating in the playoffs, they will board the flight with the first batch and the players who are committed for the IPL will join the squad at a later date. Let’s talk about the squad announcement of the India A squad, which was expected to be announced earlier this week but following the new IPL schedule has made the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar to change the plans.
