34 meritorious girl students of Karnal govt school honoured

Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand and Mayor Renu Bala Gupta on Thursday honoured 34 meritorious girl students of Classes X and XII from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Railway Road, for their outstanding academic performance in board exams.

Twelve students from Class X and 22 from Class XII were honoured with medals and gifts. The felicitation ceremony was also attended by former district BJP working president Brij Gupta, Ward 8 Councillor Sankalp Bhandari, principal Mahendra Singh, school staff and students.

Anand extended his congratulations to the students and teachers, emphasising the importance of a solid educational foundation. “Children are the pillars of our future. The stronger the foundation, the stronger our nation’s roots will be,” he remarked.

He praised the girls for bringing glory to both the school and the district through their hard work, disciplined lifestyle and guidance from parents and teachers. “It gives me immense joy to see students from humble and middle-class backgrounds achieving such success,” he added.

Anand reiterated the success of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and lauded the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda for implementing progressive educational policies and upgrading school infrastructure across Haryana.

Mayor Gupta, in her address, congratulated the meritorious students, their parents, and the school staff. She underscored the significance of education, saying, “It enhances not only intellectual and mental growth but also plays a vital role in development. It equips us with knowledge, skills and understanding that help us succeed in life. It leads to financial independence and helps create a better society.”

Encouraging the students, she said, “Our daughters are exceptionally talented. If every student studies with a clear goal, success is inevitable. Become role models of woman power and make your parents, society, and nation proud.”
