Drones seen flying in Nadaun area
Unidentified flying objects, suspected to be drones, were spotted hovering over several villages in the Nadaun subdivision of Hamirpur district, triggering panic among residents. The sightings occurred around 8.30 pm, starting from Sera village and spreading to adjoining areas including Gauna, Majhiyar, and Amlehar — the native village of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
Sanjeev Kumar, a resident, reported the incident to the police, stating that the appearance of drones during a tense, war-like atmosphere created fear among locals. Authorities advised villagers to switch off lights and remain indoors.
Sonia Thakur, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Amlehar, stated that the drones were first seen over Sera, with one flying toward Gauna, another toward Majhiyar, and one speeding toward Kohla village. There were also unconfirmed reports of a drone crash in the area.
Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur said a police team led by the Nadaun DSP was dispatched to investigate. He added that the objects could possibly be drones or illuminated balloons, but no official confirmation has been made yet. Authorities are continuing their probe to identify the flying objects and ensure public safety.
