State to receive rainfall from Friday
Himachal Pradesh is set to receive rainfall from tomorrow onwards as the state’s Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning for several districts for May 18 and 19.
As per the Meteorological Department, light rainfall will occur in middle and high hills of the state tomorrow and only in high hills on May 17 and 18. Rainfall will occur across the state from May 19 to May 21.
A yellow alert has been issued for Chamba and Kangra for May 18 and for Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, Bilaspur and Lahaul and Spiti on May 19, resulting in thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in these districts.
Meanwhile, light rain occurred in several areas of the state during the past 24 hours while the weather was mostly dry.
Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 27.2°C, Dharamsala (34°C), Manali (27.2°C), Solan (33.5°C), Bilaspur (38.7°C), Kangra (37.8°C), Nahan (35.2°C), Bhuntar (36°C), Kufri (21.3°C), Narkanda (20.8°C), Kasauli (30.6°C) and Mandi (37°C).
Una with 41.8°C was the hottest place in the state while Tabo village in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest at 4.5°C.
