Cong launches ‘Jan Sewak Kendra’ at Adarsh Nagar

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav on Thursday launched the “Rajiv Gandhi Jan Sewak Kendra” at Adarsh Nagar. The one-stop grievance redressal platform will act as a liaison between citizens and various government departments.

Yadav also unveiled the dedicated website — www.adarshnagardcc.in — that will serve as a digital platform to assist people in resolving their civic and administrative issues. The event was attended by a large number of Congress leaders, workers and local residents, with the meeting presided over by Adarsh Nagar District Congress Committee (DCC) president Sidharth Rao.

Describing the initiative as a direct outreach to the people, Yadav said: “The Jan Sewak Kendra will ensure that citizens do not have to run from pillar to post to get their work done. It reflects our commitment to serving people at the grassroots, even when out of power.” The motto of the kendra is “Congress pariwar aap ke dwar — sarkari sewaye aapka adhikar.”

Yadav also announced plans to dissolve existing executive committees in all districts and blocks and constitute new ones as part of the party’s organisational restructuring across Delhi.

The grievance centres will eventually be set up in all districts and blocks, serving as a direct point of contact for citizens facing administrative hurdles.

“The aim is to reconnect with people, amplify their voices and push for prompt redressal of public issues,” Yadav said.

Taking a dig at the AAP and the BJP, Yadav accused both parties of neglecting people’s concerns.

“During the Congress rule, elected representatives were always accessible. Today, the focus of AAP and BJP is not on governance, but on power and corruption,” he alleged.

He lauded the efforts of local leader Sidharth Rao, calling the Adarsh Nagar kendra and its supporting website “dynamic steps” toward community engagement. He reminded the audience that it was Congress workers who were on the ground during the Covid-19 lockdown, assisting the needy when other political leaders remained indoors.

Rao said the kendra would help residents navigate the complexities of government departments. “People often return disappointed and unheard from government offices. The kendra will act as a bridge to ensure their problems are taken up effectively,” he said.

The DPCC president also hit out at the BJP government in Delhi for failing to fulfill electoral promises and contributing to rising living costs through increased prices of milk, fuel, LPG and electricity. He urged Congress workers to engage with residents regularly and expose the shortcomings of the current government.

The event was part of a wider initiative, with similar DCC meetings held across all 14 districts in Delhi, drawing participation from thousands of Congress workers.
