India to end Sundar Pichai’s Google’s dominance? new search engine coming soon backed by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and…, name is…
After the launch of chrome, Google has been dominant in the search engine world. Before chrome Internet explorer and Mozilla firefox were favorite search engines of netizens. But now this dominance can end as an Indian entrepreneur is preparing to challenge it. This Indian startup has secured funding from some of the world’s biggest investors.
Google was considered as the only big player in internet search. A generative AI company, Perplexity, has raised $500 million Of Rs 4,400 crores in funding. After this, the startup’s valuation may reach to $14 billion (around Rs 1.2 lakh crores). Perplexity is now considered as one of the most promising AI companies which can change internet search completely.
The company is going to launch its own browser named Comet, which can compete with Google Chrome. This project has received support from industry giants like Nvidia, SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2, Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, Andrej Karpathy, co-founder of OpenAI, Jeff Dean, an executive at Google AI and Yann LeCun, a pioneer at Meta.
Apart from competing with Google, Perplexity is also addressing antitrust challenges in the U.S.
Perplexity’s founder, Arvind Srinivas, announced earlier this year that the new funding will be utilized to develop the Comet browser project. Srinivas asked people to join their mission to change the future of internet browsing. A comet based on AI will help users for deep research and automated tasks.

The new browser will have unique AI capabilities and automated features. Arvind Srinivas shared one example that browsers can automatically respond to posts. Perplexity’s existing AI platform also responds with major language models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and China’s DeepSeek. It will give quick and concise answers.
