Swiss International University Issues Advisory on Unaccredited Institutions Misrepresenting Its Name

Dubai, United Arab Emirates— Swiss International University (SIU) has issued an official notice regarding many unaccredited institutions that falsely claim to be affiliated with SIU. We explain that while SIU is internationally known for its high-quality education, it is only going to deploy campuses in seven cities by 2025, and any new campus or expansion of operations will be publicly communicated via an update to the university’s official website, swissuniversity.com.

As an internationally known university that is dedicated to providing a high-quality education to its students, SIU has now been targeted by fraudsters who are looking to misuse the reputation of the university for financial gain. The fraudsters mislead future students and academic partners by providing them with fictitious guarantees, admissions, scholarships, and preferential treatment for large upfront payments to fraudulent vendors for services that do not exist or services that are not in line with SIU’s academic standards.

In its notice, SIU stated that it does not permit third-party vendors and individuals to represent SIU at any of its locations, nor does it authorize anyone to represent the university outside its official campuses. Any updates, whether they are communications about the university’s ongoing operations, any new office openings, or activities undertaken by SIU, will only be communicated officially between SIU, its website, and its press releases.

“Swiss International University is dedicated to maintaining the highest educational standards and protecting the integrity of our brand,” said a spokesperson for SIU. “We strongly advise anyone contacted by individuals or organizations claiming to represent SIU to verify the information on our official website, as we are taking significant measures to address the growing issue of fraudulent impersonation.”

Reports of fraudulent activities have emerged in the Arabian Gulf and several European countries, where unaccredited entities have falsely claimed affiliation with the SIU. These scammers offer unverifiable guarantees and demand large upfront payments for services that do not meet SIU’s rigorous academic standards.

Swiss International University is recognized for its comprehensive academic programs and internationally accredited degrees, with campuses that adhere to the high standards of Swiss education. This advisory is aimed at safeguarding prospective students from falling victim to unaccredited institutions and ensuring they only engage with the legitimate SIU.

SIU urges the public to remain cautious when dealing with education agencies or representatives offering SIU-related services without proper verification. The university reiterated that admissions must be processed through official SIU channels. A complete list of accredited SIU campuses in major cities worldwide is available on the official website.

Currently, SIU operates campuses in seven cities: Dubai, Zurich, Bishkek, London, Riga, Lucerne, and Osh. These locations were chosen to offer students an enriching educational experience and foster international collaboration. SIU further clarified that any announcements regarding new office openings will be made exclusively through its official website, and students, stakeholders, and interested parties should verify the legitimacy of such claims before making any financial commitments.
