Railways has made identity card mandatory for those traveling on group tickets in trains during summer vacations. Every passenger will have to carry his/her identity card during the journey. A fine may be imposed for not having an identity card. DRM has shared this information on X. This rule has been implemented keeping in mind the safety of passengers.

Railway New Rules: If you are going to travel in a group during summer vacations, then this news is important for you. Before traveling, every passenger must keep his identity card with him. Railways have made identity card mandatory for every passenger.

Identity card is also mandatory to go inside the station or on the platform. Now identity card will also be checked along with the ticket. If the ID is not available, the ticket checking staff and RPF can charge a fine or take other action.

Understand it like this-

Tickets of maximum six passengers are booked on one PNR. During the journey, when the ticket checking staff came, the first passenger among the six or any one of them used to show his identity card. It was not mandatory for all the passengers to show the identity card.

During rush, if the ticket checking staff had any doubt, the identity cards of other passengers traveling in the group were checked. Now it is mandatory for all the six passengers traveling on one PNR to carry identity card.

DRM shared information on X

DRM Kamal Kishore Sinha has shared information related to this on his X account. He has told that for the safety and convenience of the passengers, the system has been strengthened and it is mandatory for every passenger traveling on group ticket to carry an identity card.

Identity card is not mandatory during booking. But it is mandatory for coming to the platform and traveling. If the identity document is not found during checking by the ticket checking staff and RPF, a fine or action can be taken.
