Demolition drive at unauthorised colony in Jagadhri

A team of the District Town Planner (DTP) carried out a demolition drive in an unauthorised colony, situated in Jagadhri of Yamunanagar district.

The team of the DTP demolished a network of kutcha roads in the unauthorised colony, which was spread over six acres.

DTP Rajesh Kumar said on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta, they were carrying out demolition drives in unauthorised colonies regularly and taking action against the promoters of those unauthorised colonies.

He said their team carried out a demolition drive in an unauthorised colony in Jagadhri, demolishing a network of kutcha/mud roads in the said colony.

He said notices were issued to the defaulters as per rules under the Urban Area Act 8 of 1975, but the defaulters did not comply with the departmental orders.

“This unauthorised colony was being developed by the land owners/ promoters without taking necessary permissions. Therefore, a demolition action was taken in the said unauthorised colony,” said Rajesh Kumar.

He appealed to the people of the district not to invest their hard earned money in such unauthorised colonies and to contact the DTP office before buying a plot.

“Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one can apply on the portal of the Town and Country Planning Department to obtain permission for land use change and if required, the District Town Planner’s office can be contacted for more information on any working day,” said Rajesh Kumar.
