Rs 250 crore being spent on dev works in Kasumpti: Minister

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh announced that Rs 250 crore is being spent on various development projects in the Kasumpti Assembly constituency. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the two-day Sipur Fair in Mashobra Gram Panchayat.

He said the funds would be utilised for the construction of roads, bridges, drinking water schemes, and resolving low voltage issues. Forest clearances and other formalities for 22 roads have been completed, while gift deeds and formalities for 65 roads are in progress. He urged local residents to contribute land through gift deeds for road construction, to help connect all villages by road.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, four roads will be built, while seven more will be taken up under the MLA priority scheme. The target is to make 80 per cent of all roads in the panchayat area paved.

Highlighting the cultural significance of fairs, Anirudh Singh emphasised their role in preserving heritage and promoting social harmony. He congratulated Mashobra Panchayat and the Mela Committee for successfully organising the fair, calling such events a symbol of people’s faith in local deities.

He also announced an incentive of Rs 5,000 each for the children of all 12 schools that gave presentations during the fair. Additionally, he released a souvenir to mark the occasion.
