JAMMU, May 16: To review the ground situation after the Pakistani shelling, PCC president Tariq Hameed Karra and other senior leaders today conducted a tour of border villages of district Samba.
During his visit, the local dewllers of villages Nanga, Mangu Chak, Chasliana and Benglad explained their grievances, which they have been facing particularly after heavy shelling by Pakistan last week.
After having a detailed discussion with effected, the PCC president raised his serious concern not about the worst condition of bunkers, but also another promise of the Government about recruitment rallies, five marlas plots at safer locations.
He sincerely appreciated the courage and zeal of locals who were being forced to migrate or to spend relentless nights in damaged bunkers and demanded the open recruitment rallies for the border youth.
“Nowadays, people are ruminating about the difference between Modi’s regime and the then Congress Governments,” he said.
Working president Raman Bhalla also interacted with locals and assured the best support of party workers and volunteers of the party.
He lambasted the Central Govt for not fulfilling the promises like five marlas plots and employment.
District president Sanjeev Sharma said, “Most of the bunkers in the border area are too damaged to use. In one hand there is no power in the rare bunkers of the area which could be hardly used during shelling and in another hand the Government is charging pretty high for the power of domestic use.”
AICC secretary Neeraj Kundan and former Minister Yashpal Kundal also interacted with the people.
Babal Gupta, Tirath Ram, Vinod Kumar, Subash Singh and Jagdeep Singh also participated in the tour.
