35 years on, proprietary rights given to 121 beneficiaries

In a significant step toward empowering residents staying within the Lal Lakir, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora on Thursday conferred proprietary rights on 121 households under the “Mera Ghar Mere Naam” scheme.

Property certificates were distributed at a special event held at Shree Guru Ravidas Dharamshala, Haibowal Khurd, here, on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, Arora described the initiative as a landmark move aimed at resolving long-standing property ownership issues in Haibowal Khurd (Ward 63). Residents had been demanding legal ownership of their homes for over 35 years. Highlighting the broader impact of the scheme, The MP said: “The initiative not only addresses decades-old challenges but also restores dignity and opens new economic opportunities for residents. By granting legal recognition, it allows residents to leverage their property for financial growth—whether through loans or future family planning.”
