Mumbai: In preparation for Bakri Eid 2025, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has released important guidelines to ensure smooth and safe celebrations across Mumbai, particularly at the Deonar Slaughterhouse, which witnesses significant footfall during the festival.

A coordination meeting, chaired by Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Ashwini Joshi, was held on May 16 at the BMC headquarters. Key civic and police officials, including Deputy Commissioner (Special) Smt. Chanda Jadhav, DCP (Transport-3), Pradeep Chavan, and Kalimpasha Pathan, the General Manager of Deonar Abattoir, were present to review the facilities and arrangements.

Dr Joshi emphasised that safety, hygiene, and public convenience must be top priorities. She instructed that proper CCTV surveillance, clear signage, and designated parking be arranged at the slaughterhouse premises. A special team will be deployed to act against unauthorised hawkers around the facility to avoid congestion and ensure public order. The BMC also directed that all notices and instructions be clearly displayed for citizens’ reference.

This information was officially shared by the BMC on their X (formerly Twitter) handle, urging citizens to cooperate and make use of the digital platforms to streamline the festival activities. Bakri Eid 2025 is expected to draw large crowds for religious observance, and the BMC aims to facilitate the process while maintaining civic order and sanitation standards.
