ISRO's EOS-09 Satellite To Enhance Night-Time Surveillance Capabilities (VIDEO)

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to reach a significant milestone with its 101st mission, the launch of the Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-09) on Sunday, May 18 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. The radar satellite will be launched into orbit on board the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) The launch will be attended by several Members of Parliament (MP)

The made in India satellite, designed by ISRO's UR Rao Satellite Center in Bengaluru, is equipped with a C-band synthetic aperture radar, enabling it to capture high-resolution images of the Earth's surface under all weather conditions and in low light.

When clouds gather, storms rage, or night falls, most satellites go blind but EOS-09 satellite is equipped with C-band SAR that can see through clouds and at night.
