CBSE Important notification: A big relief has been given to those who run schools by getting recognition from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). For recognition of the school, from the session 2026-27, it will not be mandatory to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the state at the time of application.
If there is no NOC from the state at the time of online application for affiliation, CBSE will write to the state government in this regard and seek comments. If no reply is given in a total of 45 days, it will be assumed that the state education department has no objection to giving affiliation to the school with CBSE. After this, action will be taken to grant affiliation.
Now the NOC of the state government is not mandatory
The NOC of the state government was mandatory to get recognition from CBSE. Now from the upcoming session 2026-27, applications will be allowed on the Saras portal for affiliation under various categories with or without NOC.
Apart from this, it will be necessary to submit the report of the Public Works Department regarding the recognition up to which class, the fire department regarding the building, the Revenue Department for the land as before. Thus, if a school applies for affiliation without the NOC from the State, CBSE will write to the concerned State regarding the school’s application for affiliation with the Board.
Time will be given to register objection
If there is any objection on the school’s application, then inform within 30 days. If no comment is received within this period, then a letter will be sent to the concerned state’s education department again and objection/comment will be sought within 15 days.
If objection/comment is not received within the stipulated period, it will be assumed that they have no objection in granting affiliation. After this, the process of granting affiliation will be completed by testing/verifying the submitted documents in relation to other standards. CBSE has issued a notification in this regard.
