Arab League Summit Held In Iraq, Syria's President Skips Meeting


The Arab League Summit was held in Baghdad today, just days after US President Donald Trump wrapped up his Middle East visit. Syria's president is not attending; instead, its foreign minister is representing. Iraq is dominated by Shiite parties that are concerned about the past of the Syrian president, who was part of a Sunni militia group. Russia has also sent a message to the Arab League leaders that he invited them for the first Russia-Arab League summit in October later this year.
