Hisar gets direct trains to Chandigarh & Gurugram
Direct train services have been launched from Hisar to Chandigarh and Gurugram. This had been a long-awaited demand of area residents.
The two train services were flagged off by the BJP MP from Kurukshetra, Naveen Jindal, and his mother, Independent Hisar MLA Savitri Jindal, on Saturday.
The direct train from the Raipur railway station — located on the outskirts of the town — to Chandigarh will depart at 2.25 am, stopping at Barwala, Uklana, Jakhal, Narwana, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Mohali, Ropar, Nangal Dam and Una stations before reaching Amb Andaura at 12.40 pm. The return journey will start at 3 pm from Amb Andaura, with the train reaching Raipur at 1.05 am.
Another service — an extended route of train 54085/86, which previously operated between Delhi and Rewari via Gurugram — will now run up to Satrod, Hisar.
The railway station was adorned with flowers and colourful flags to mark the launch of the train facilities.
The event drew a large crowd of citizens, local leaders, social workers and railway officials.
Addressing the gathering, Savitri Jindal expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Railways and Bikaner Railway Division officials, calling the new trains “a giant leap toward Hisar’s progress”.
She emphasised the convenience the services would bring to students, traders and government employees. Naveen Jindal said the development was a result of sustained public-oriented efforts.
