Security Breach: YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Held for Spying on India for Pakistan
In a major development, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra from Hisar, Haryana, has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan under the guise of video blogging. The 33-year-old is accused of collecting sensitive information related to Indian military operations, including details about Operation Sindoor, and sending them to Pakistan via encrypted platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. Authorities revealed that she visited Pakistan in 2023 and 2020, where she was allegedly recruited by Danish, a Pakistani High Commission official, and introduced to ISI-linked agents such as Shakir and Rana Shahbaz. Jyoti stored their contacts under false names in her phone. Her travel history, mobile devices, and bank accounts are now under military intelligence and IB scrutiny. Forensic tests are being conducted on her electronic devices, which reportedly contain Pakistani contact numbers. Her family, however, claims she is innocent. The arrest is part of a wider investigation that has led to the detention of five others. Agencies fear a larger espionage network, with NIA likely to join the probe as national security concerns escalate.
