Chief Justice Suresh Kait Bids Emotional Farewell In Jabalpur, Sings 1968 Bollywood Song On Colleagues' Request
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): The 28th Chief Justice of the Jabalpur High Court, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, was bid a reverent and affectionate farewell at Jabalpur’s Silver Jubliee Hall on Saturday.
High Court Judges, senior advocates, and office-bearers of the Bar Association were present in the farewell ceremony expressing their admiration for Justice Kait and his professional journey.
‘Can’t bear institution’s dishonour’
During his parting speech, Chief Justice Kait revealed his priorities and said, “I am not concerned about personal respect, but I cannot tolerate disrespect to the institution.”
He also voiced his heartfelt gratitude for the love and respect he received during his tenure in Jabalpur and Madhya Pradesh. At one point, he became visibly emotional.
Justice Kait sung a song
A ceremony turned momentous when, on the request of lawyers, Justice Kait sang an old Bollywood song — O Phirki Wali Tu Kal Phir Aana.
His melodious singing was met with loud applause and cheers, making the moment unforgettable.
His wife was also present at the ceremony.
Among the key dignitaries were Administrative Judge Sanjeev Sachdeva, State Bar Vice Chairman R.K. Singh Saini, Deputy Solicitor General Pushpendra Yadav, Additional Advocate General Harpreet Singh Rupraha, High Court Advocates Bar Secretary Nikhil Tiwari, District Bar President Manish Mishra, and High Court Bar President D.K. Jain.
The ceremony beautifully highlighted Justice Kait’s simple, sincere, and emotional nature as it marked the end of a dignified judicial journey.
