Under-construction medical college inspected
Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja inspected the under-construction Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Government Medical College, being built at Panjupur village in Yamunanagar district.
During the inspection, he instructed the officials to expedite the construction work of the medical college.
He said about 60 per cent of the work of the medical college was complete. He further said a meeting would be held soon to coordinate with all departments related to the medical college. He added that the construction work of the medical college would be completed by March 31, 2026, so that classes could be started in the medical college in the next academic session. “This medical college will have 100 seats for the MBBS course. A 500-bed hospital will be built on the college campus,” said ADC-cum-OSD of the medical college, Naveen Ahuja.He said the provision of a sewage treatment plant (STP) had been made for medical waste and other types of waste at the medical college.
“Other facilities, including hospital, medical college, nursing, paramedical, physiotherapy college, residential building for doctors, administrative block, library, lecture halls, separate hostels for boys and girls, multipurpose examination hall, night shelter and sub-station for electricity supply will be available on the premises of the college,” said Naveen Ahuja.
