KL Rahul creates HISTORY with sensational century in IPL 2025, becomes only player to…

New Delhi: KL Rahul scored an unbeaten century against Gujarat Titans on Sunday 19. This was Rahul’s fifth century in IPL as he remained unbeaten on 112 of just 65 balls, his innings included 14 fours and 4 sixes.

Rahul became the second Indian batter to score 5 or more IPL hundreds. Virat Kohli comes into first place as he has scored 8 IPL hundreds so far. It was Rahul 7th T20 hundred overall. He also became the only cricketer to score hundreds for three different IPL franchises

Rahul’s impressive 112 not out, achieved after his promotion to opener, led Delhi Capitals to a commanding 199/3 in their 20-over match against Gujarat Titans.

Rahul’s strong batting performance led Delhi Capitals to a challenging total against Gujarat Titans. He received significant contributions from Porel (30 runs off 19 balls), Patel (25 runs off 16 balls), and Stubbs (21 runs off 10 balls), ensuring a competitive score.

KL Rahul began strongly, hitting two boundaries off Mohammed Siraj’s first over. One was aided by a misfield, the other a well-executed cut shot. Despite Faf du Plessis’ early dismissal, caught at mid-on off Arshad Khan, Rahul continued his aggressive start.

Rahul displayed impressive batting against Siraj and Rabada. He skillfully cut two boundaries off a short, wide delivery from Siraj. Facing Rabada, Rahul powerfully hit a six by expertly maneuvering a short ball.

After two deliveries, Kagiso Rabada bowled a loose ball, allowing KL Rahul to score a boundary and a six. This brought Rahul’s T20 run tally to 8000, making him the fastest Indian and third-fastest overall to reach this milestone. The final over of the powerplay yielded 17 runs, leaving Delhi Capitals on 45/1.

Rahul aggressively targeted Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan, rotating the strike effectively and hitting a boundary off the latter to reach his fifty in 35 balls, prompting enthusiastic cheers from the home crowd. He also benefited from a fortunate top-edge that evaded a diving R Sai Kishore, resulting in another boundary.

Rahul surprised the audience with a stunning six, a lofted half-volley hit down the ground. He followed this with three consecutive boundaries off Kishore: a powerful straight drive, a flick over the boundary, and an edged shot that went through the vacant first slip position.

KL Rahul, despite a quiet final four overs, reached his century with a powerful six and pull shot off Prasidh Krishna. He then added two more boundaries against Mohammed Siraj before the end of his innings, setting Gujarat Titans a challenging target.
