Maharashtra News: Raigad Collector Kishan Jawale Conducts Surprise Inspection Of Nagothane PHC To Strengthen Rural Healthcare Services
Navi Mumbai: In a surprise move aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare services, Raigad District Collector Kishan Jawale paid an unannounced visit to the Nagothane Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Raigad district and reviewed its operations on the ground.
During his inspection, the Collector evaluated the daily functioning of the centre, including the number of patients being examined, the frequency of patient referrals to higher facilities, and the justification behind such referrals. He also interacted directly with a few patients to understand their concerns and the quality of service being provided.

He instructed that health officials and staff must remain stationed at the headquarters, ensuring continuous medical support. The Collector strictly advised against unnecessary referrals, directing that patients be treated at the PHC level whenever possible.

Present during the visit were Medical Officer Dr. Aditya Shirsat, Health Assistants Rajendra Pawar and Bharat Kamarkar, and Pharmacist Aparna Sazekar, among others.
The surprise inspection is part of the district administration’s continued effort to enhance healthcare delivery and ensure accountability in the public health sector.
