After landing Trent-Alexander Arnold and Dean Huijsen from England, Real Madrid are actively tracking Benfica left-back Alvaro Carreras ahead of Xabi Alonso's arrival. However, the Spanish giants are in no mood to stop and have reportedly identified a fourth transfer target ahead of the Club World Cup.

If Spanish media reports are to be trusted, Real Madrid academy product Nico Paz, who is currently playing Serie A newly promoted Como, is likely to make a comeback to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. 20-year-old Paz, who played the UEFA Champions League in the white shirt before making a €6 million switch, has nine assists and six goals to his credit this season for the Cesc Fabregas-managed team.  He was named Serie A’s Best Debutant and was included in the Team of the Season on FC25.

The Argentine, who started as a defender in the Madrid academy, later started operating on the wings before settling down in the midfield. Nico Paz was used as a substitute for Fede Valverde by Real in a Champions League game before being trusted to replace Dani Carvajal on the right side of the defence during a league clash. In all, he managed eight appearances for the club (4 in La Liga) before being sold to the Italian side.

With a squad overhaul being expected under Alonso, young Nico Paz is seen as a long-term investment by the club, outlets including Football Espana claimed. He could well be the fourth signing of the summer as it is comparatively easy for the La Liga team as a €9 million buyback option was attached to his transfer agreement.
