Trump's Call With Russian President Putin Underway To Discuss Peace In Ukraine

A telephonic conversation is underway between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the war in Ukraine, the White House said on Monday.

Earlier in the day, US Vice President JD Vance told reporters that Trump will be asking Putin if he is "serious" about bringing peace in Ukraine.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump has grown weary and frustrated with both sides of the conflict and added that his goal is to see a ceasefire and to see this conflict come to an end, CNN reported.

Trump is also expected to speak to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to make progress toward a ceasefire in the Ukraine War.
