Did Nancy Tyagi Lie About Her ₹25,000 Cannes Outfit? Singer Neha Bhasin Slams Her For Claiming She Designed It, Mumbai Store Reveals The Truth (EXCLUSIVE)
Singer and former Bigg Boss OTT contestant Neha Bhasin called out influencer and self-taught designer Nancy Tyagi for allegedly falsely claiming she designed her outfit for the Cannes Film Festival 2025. According to Neha and the store that sold the outfit, Nancy did not create the dress herself as claimed, but bought it from a fashion store in Mumbai.
Neha took to her Instagram stories on Sunday (May 18) to share photos of Nancy’s Cannes look, posting a side-by-side comparison with herself in what appeared to be the same corset.
"This corset looks too familiar hmmmm. Just wondering," she wrote. In a follow-up story with her own picture in the same outfit, she added, "Same same." Neha also revealed that the dress was from The Source Bombay, a fashion store in Bandra that sells and rents customised clothing.
Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Surbhi Gupta, founder and stylist at The Source Bombay, confirmed that Nancy had purchased the dress from their store.
"Nancy claims she stitched it herself and all of that, but she bought it from us," Gupta said. "She got it from our Mumbai store. We don’t have any problem. She purchased it, so she's free to do what she wants with it. But it is our design. We didn't do a barter or a collaboration. She did not stitch it herself, which she claims she did. The cape she wore doesn't belong to me... that's something she seems to have made herself, I guess," Gupta stated.
Gupta further disclosed that Nancy bought the outfit for Rs 25,000 before Cannes 2025.

Nancy walked the Cannes 2025 red carpet in a pearl-embellished mini dress featuring intricate crystal fringe detailing, soft silver-beige tones, and structured panel work. The look was completed with a dramatic cape with puffed shoulders and a long trail.
In her Instagram caption, Nancy shared an emotional story behind the outfit. "Ye colour meri mummy ka favourite hai, isliye iss baar decide kiya ki isi colour mein dress design karun," she wrote.
"Isse banane mein poora one month laga, aur main last moment tak taiyaari mein lagi rahi, kyunki dress kaafi heavy thi. Dil se shukriya un sabhi ka jo is pyaari journey ka ek hissa rahe, aap sabke bina yeh moment vapis itna special nahi hota," the 24-year-old influencer added.
Nancy, who gained popularity for stitching her own outfits and posting fashion transformation videos, is yet to respond to the claims made by Neha and The Source Bombay.
