J&K Bank CISO wins top honour at ESCON 2025

SRINAGAR, May 19: J&K Bank’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Muneer Hassan Kongawani, has been awarded the ‘CISO of the Year’ title at the prestigious Enterprise Security Connect (ESCON) 2025 – South Asia’s leading cyber security summit.
A statement said the award was presented during a conference held in Goa from May 16 to 18, organised by StrategINK Pvt. Ltd. It was handed over by India’s G20 Sherpa and former NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant, it said.
Recognised for his leadership in cyber security and risk management, Kongawani was also named one of the ‘Smart CISOs of India’ by CIO AXIS a day before the ESCON event.
CIO AXIS is a reputed platform that honours IT and security professionals for excellence in their field.
“Over the years, J&K Bank has made major progress in digital services, while keeping cyber security as a top priority,” a spokesperson of the bank said.
“These awards not only celebrate individual achievement but also highlight the Bank’s commitment to secure digital banking and customer trust,” he said.
