SRH End LSG's IPL 2025 Playoff Hopes With 6-Wicket Win In Lucknow
IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad brought an end to Lucknow Super Giants' playoff hopes by handing them a 6-wicket defeat in their IPL 2025 fixture at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday, May 19.
With the result, the race for the last qualifying slot remains between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, who will face each other in the last group stage fixture of the ongoing season.
A 20-ball 59 from Abhishek Sharma helped SRH chase down the target of 206 in Lucknow, and the young Indian batter was awarded the Player of the Match for the same.
Here's what he said during the post-match presentation ceremony:
"[About the incident with Rathi] We actually spoke after the game and it's all good now. I would have had other plans if we batted first but chasing 206, you had to make use of the powerplay. Me and Atharva had the chat that if we get our first ball in the arc we will smoke it out of the park."
"If you ask any of the player who's playing international cricket in the last decade they will say you should win the powerplay while chasing something around 200. I tried to express myself and if I do well it will do good to the team."
"[On responsibility of being a capped player] It gives you an extra edge. You have to take an extra responsibility that you are representing your country. I had the same plan in the international team as well to just go and express myself."
