Orange alert issued for 6 districts in Kerala as heavy rain lashes parts of state

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for six Kerala districts—Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod—due to anticipated heavy rainfall. A yellow alert is in place for the remaining districts. The southwest monsoon is expected to arrive in Kerala around May 27, earlier than its typical onset date.
