The Meteorological Department said that this cyclonic system is forming in the east-central Arabian Sea, due to which heavy and widespread rains are likely in these states in the coming days. Rain alert in these states

The effect of this cyclonic system will be seen from May 20 to May 23. According to the Meteorological Department, during this period, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in some areas of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kadaikanal. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Karnataka. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain here till May 22. During this time the temperature can remain between 20 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Alert for Maharashtra

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed on Monday that there is a possibility of rain in Mumbai and many districts of Maharashtra between May 20 and 23. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’. In the forecast and warning issued by IMD for the next three days, ‘Orange Alert’ has also been issued for some districts of Konkan, Marathwada, North Maharashtra and Western Maharashtra on some days.
