Is Marvel Rivals making ranked play more casual?

Marvel Rivals' ranked mode has received criticism, especially with the addition of the Chrono Shield system. The Chrono Shield was created to keep players from losing rank after being defeated, because it recharges according to losses, so that even lower ranked players take advantage of the Chrono Shield. More complexity is added with the addition of Chrono Shield Cards, that only Gold tier or below players can use.
