IPL 2025: Bad News For Fans In Bengaluru As Chinnaswamy Stadium Unlikely To Host RCB vs SRH Fixture On May 23

Fans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium could be in for a bad news as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL 2025 match against the SunRisers Hyderabad has reportedly been shifted to Lucknow from Bengaluru. The likely development comes due to rains predicted in the city, making it harder to contest a full match.

With the IPL 2025 resuming on May 17 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Benglauru, spectators were massively excited to witness Virat Kohli play for the first time since announcing his Test retirement. As a result, fans had worn the white jersey of Virat Kohli to pay tribute to Kohli on his outstanding Test career. Nevertheless, the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders had been abandoned without a ball getting bowled.

With showers predicted in Bengaluru on May 23 as well, the stakeholders have reportedly moved the game to Lucknow. Nevertheless, an official confirmation on the same is yet to come.

It was also set to be the final game in IPL 2025 at the venue.

RCB qualify for yet another playoffs

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers are one of the three teams so far, along with Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans to qualify for the top four. Rajat Patidar and co. made their way to the playoffs after the Titans beat the Delhi Capitals comprehensively on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The Royal Challengers have qualified for the finals on three occasions in 2009, 2011 and 2016 but failed to win the title in all those. Hence, RCB will look to get the monkey off their back this year should they get there.
