Operation Sindoor: India was ready for second strike on Pakistan, Islamabad begged before….
New Delhi: The recent conflict between India and Pakistan has clearly revealed the significant disparity in military strength between the two countries. India had launched Operation Sindoor following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Through this operation, India obliterated 9 terrorist camps of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad in Pakistan. However, Pakistan made an unsuccessful attempt to retaliate against India. Subsequently, India attacked 11 military bases in Pakistan, leaving them in ruins. This included the Noor Khan Airbase located in the heart of Pakistan, which is considered the command center of the Pakistani army. These attacks scared Pakistan so much that it begged for help from the United States.
Pakistan no match for India
According to a report by Hindustan Times, after the attack on Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi, the Modi government decided not to escalate the situation as Pakistan could not match India. It was noted that Pakistan’s defeat could be gauged by the efforts of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to contact Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval on the morning of May 10.
India launched a powerful missile attack on Noor Khan Air Base in the early hours on May 10. On the same day at 10:38 AM, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Kashif Abdullah claimed in a phone call to his Indian counterpart that he had intelligence about a BrahMos missile attack on Karachi naval port. However, while the Pakistani DGMO attempted to threaten retaliatory action, the Indian side remained unconcerned and was fully prepared for war.
Pakistan pleaded US to mediate
It is understood that when Foreign Minister Rubio informed about Pakistan’s willingness to agree to a ceasefire, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar firmly but politely responded that such a proposal would need to come through DGMO channels, as the armed forces were leading the operation. Meanwhile, India ignored phone calls from the Pakistani Foreign Minister and traditional ally countries in Islamabad, urging for the cessation of hostilities.
India was under no pressure to reduce tensions, especially when 11 enemy air bases had been destroyed and its air defense system had ceased to function. India had no intention of attacking Balochistan or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. India destroyed the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan within 25 minutes on the morning of May 7.
