Three arrested with illegal weapons in Phagwara

The Satnampura police in Phagwara have arrested three youths and recovered illegal weapons from their possession. Acting on a tip-off, the police seized a country-made pistol, six cartridges and two iron rods during the operation.

According to ASI Sukhjinder Singh, the police team was patrolling near Kotrani Chowk on Bhanoki Road when they received information that three young men from Nangal Colony were heading towards Phagwara on a motorcycle carrying illegal weapons.

The police set up a checkpoint near a local resort and managed to intercept the suspects. The accused have been identified as Priyanshu, Prince Kumar and Arshdeep. During the search, the police recovered a .32 bore country-made pistol and six cartridges. Additionally, two iron rods were found concealed under the shirts of Prince Kumar and Arshdeep.

A case has been registered against the trio under the Arms Act.
