Major Fire Breaks Out At Delhi's Punjabi Bazar, Several Shops Gutted

A major fire broke out at Punjabi Bazar in Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur earlier on Wednesday. Several shops were gutted in the blaze and fire department personnel and police reached the spot to contain the situation. No casualties have been reported in the incident. More details awaited. 

Delhi Fire Serviced received a call at about 4:08 am about the fire. Fire officer Manoj Kumar told PTI that six shops were affected by the fire. Prima facie, it appears the fire was caused by a short circuit, he said, adding there are no casualties. 

On Tuesday, a fire broke out at private school in Delhi's Nirman Vihar area, as per officials. No casualty was reported, they said. The Delhi Fire Services were alerted about the blaze at 8:54 pm and five tenders were rushed to the spot, he said, reported PTI. 

The fire was brought under control by 9:25 pm. Some furniture was damaged but no casualty was reported, the official said.
